Tree Lighting &
Remembrance Event
December 2, 2025!
For a $10 donation, you can order a beautiful Cardinal ornament
in memory or in honor of your loved one. We will then personalize the back of
the ornament with their name and place their ornament on the Christmas
tree outside of the Cancer Resource Center of Western Maine during our
annual Tree Lighting and Remembrance Ceremony which will be held on
Tuesday, December 2nd from 4:30 – 6:00pm. (Snow day is December 3rd)
We hope you will join us for this special outdoor ceremony, where staff from
MaineHealth Stephens Oncology Department will join us to read the names
of patients who have passed away this year along with some inspirational
readings.
The tree lighting and remembrance ceremony will start promptly at 5:00pm
on the lawn outside the Cancer Resource Center of Western Maine, 59 Winter
Street, Norway. We will conclude the event in a round of holiday caroling.
Cider and snacks will be available inside the Cancer Resource Center,

How to order:
1)Ornaments can be ordered online (with a credit card) at Ornaments for
Tree Lighting Ceremony
2)In person (with cash or a check) at the Cancer Resource Center of Western
Maine on Thursdays from 10-2 pm.
3)You can also purchase ornaments at the Turkey Trot 4 Hope Race/Walk on
November 27th.
All orders must be in by November 30th, and will be hung on the tree on
December 2nd. Families can take the ornaments following the ceremony to
include in your own holiday celebrations.
Event Schedule:
4:30-5:00pm: Activities will begin with music, refreshments and viewing of
the ornaments.
5:00pm: Reading of loved ones’ names who have passed away from cancer
this year. Caroling, and music will immediately follow with refreshments
available inside the Cancer Resource Center.
