For Children

  • The CLIMB (Children’s Lives Include Moments of Bravery) program is returning to the Lewiston Dempsey Center starting starting in July and will be held every Thursday evening from 4:00-6:00 PM, from 7/14 through 8/18. This session is for Children (ages 5-11), Parents/Primary Caregivers (all participants should include at least one child/parent pair from each participating family). Future sessions have been planned to include Teen participants as well; please see the attached flyer and/or link below for those dates and times. Each session begins with a group meal, provided by the Dempsey Center, followed by concurrent children and parents support groups each run by a trained facilitator.
Pre-registration assessment is required for participation in the program, which can be scheduled with the participating parent via phone call or Zoom. To schedule a pre-assessment, please contact the Dempsey Center by email at [email protected] or phone (877) 336-7287.
THE JOE ANDRUZZI FOUNDATION FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

The Joe Andruzzi Foundation is committed to providing assistance to patients of all ages throughout New England who have fallen on financial hardships as a result of a cancer diagnosis. In many cases, these patients and/or family members are unable to work because of declining health and treatment. The Joe Andruzzi Foundation understands that crucial living expenses are not put on hold because of a diagnosis, and JAF’s Financial Assistance Program specifically targets and fulfills patients who are struggling to make ends meet.

Because patients and families must often devote all of their energy and resources towards battling the disease, the Foundation helps alleviate financial and emotional stress by providing grants to assist with rent/mortgage payments, utilities, and other household expenses. This relief allows the Foundation’s grant recipients to focus on their fight against cancer and not on the financial distress that comes with it.

Financial Assistance Program applications must be submitted through our online application system by a social worker, patient navigator, resource specialist, or other similar role. Patients should contact their social worker for assistance completing an application.
