What is our Live Well Card? If you have been impacted by cancer, you are eligible for our FREE "Live Well Card." Cancer Survivors (anyone who has ever had a cancer diagnosis) and their Caregiver can each use their Live Well Card several times per year for FREE complementary therapy sessions. They can choose sessions such as Reiki, Oncology Massage, Therapeutic Yoga, Reflexology, Aroma Touch and more - from a list of participating wellness providers located throughout western Maine.
What is Complementary Therapy? "Complementary Therapy" refers to health practices that are used alongside traditional medical treatments to complement traditional treatment and increase overall wellbeing. In the cancer world, this means using holistic forms of healthcare (reiki, massage, yoga, reflexology, etc.) in order to reduce stress, manage symptoms, and generally feel better, while dealing with the stress of a cancer diagnosis. Complementary therapy has benefits whether you have just been diagnosed, have been dealing with cancer for a while, or have been in survivorship for years. We also encourage caregivers to try out complementary therapy!
