The Cancer Resource Center of Western Maine announces the return of its Kayaking Wellness program on Norway Lake. Anyone impacted by cancer including patients, survivors, family members and caregivers are welcome to participate in this free program which will be taught by Sherri Otterson. Kayaking will provide physical, social and emotional well-being for all who participate. It can be good for improving flexibility and shoulder range of motion, especially for people who have had breast cancer surgery.
This wellness activity is FREE. A limited amount of Kayaks, paddles, and PFDs (personal flotation devices), will be available. If you have your own equipment, please bring if possible. Support will be given to those who have never Kayaked. Water shoes or shoes that can get wet are suggested, along with sunscreen, hat, water, and towel. Come prepared to get outside and be active with others and have fun. No reservation needed. First time please come 15-30 minutes early for sign in.
